George "Jody" Root, President/CEO
Jody is a 40+ year resident of Alpine and a Healthcare Attorney. He started the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) in Alpine and was a member of the Alpine Union School District’s Board of Directors. He’s a big family and soccer enthusiast!
Michelle is a San Diego native whose family has lived in Alpine for 40 years. She recently returned after 25+ years in Northern California, where she raised two sons. She studied Anthropology and Museum Studies and has volunteered extensively with museums and historic preservation projects. She has a passion for arts and culture, historic preservation, and natural resource conservation. You can see her often in Wright’s Field, camera in hand, combining her love for nature and photography.

Robert Figari, Board Member
Bob is an avid bicyclist, backpacker, and swimmer with a special love for mythology. With a background in psychology and business, he has for many years consulted and trained corporate clients in communication skills. Bob joined the Preserve Alpine’s Heritage team to help maintain the special rural character of the town and protect Alpine’s right to self-determination.
Dominique grew up in Alpine and recently returned to raise her family.
Julianne Simper, Chair
Julie is a consultant specializing in international medical education events. She has a passion for travel and languages and has lived in California, Oregon, Belgium, and The Netherlands. She feels lucky to now call Alpine home where she lives with her husband and a slew of critters.
Christine Figari, Secretary
Chris is a facilitator and mediator with experience in consulting, training, outplacement counseling, and management. She and her husband moved to Alpine in 2019 from Northern California, drawn to its open spaces, scenic views and small-town feel. She looks forward to many years of exploring and enjoying all that makes Alpine special.
Courtney is an experienced marketing professional and a resident of Alpine for over 30 years. She’s passionate about travel and all things four-legged.
Jim is a physician scientist with a special interest in blood and bone marrow transplantation. He has dedicated his career to providing excellent patient care. A San Diego native, he has lived in Alpine for nearly three decades where he currently shares his home with his wife, cat, dog, bearded dragon, and 12 rescue tortoises.
